A complete guide to all WB Member Blog settings. Navigate to Member Blog in your WordPress admin to access these options.

Settings Tabs

WB Member Blog organizes settings into logical tabs:

Overview Tab

The Overview tab provides quick information about your setup:

Plugin Version: Current version of WB Member Blog Detected Platform: BuddyPress, BuddyBoss, PeepSo, or Standalone Quick Links: Documentation, support, and settings shortcuts PRO Upgrade: Information about PRO features (if not using PRO)

This tab is informational only – no settings to configure here.

Pages Tab

Configure the pages that power member blogging.

Blog Post Submission Page

Member Blog Dashboard Page

Status Indicators:

✅ Green checkmark – Page is set up correctly ⚠️ Yellow warning – Page may be missing shortcode ❌ Red X – No page selected

Editor Tab

Choose the writing experience for your members. Three options are available:

Editor.js (Block-Style)

Best For: Modern communities wanting rich content Features: Block-based editing, inline images, headers, lists, quotes Experience: Type “/” to add blocks or just start typing

Medium Editor

Best For: Writing-focused communities Features: Distraction-free, floating toolbar on text selection Experience: Clean interface, select text for formatting options

Classic Editor (TinyMCE)

Best For: Users familiar with WordPress Features: Fixed toolbar at top, WYSIWYG editing Experience: Similar to Microsoft Word or classic WordPress

Recommendation: Start with Editor.js for the best balance of features and usability.

Access & Permissions Tab

Control who can create blog posts on your site.

Allowed User Roles

Check which WordPress roles can access blog creation:

Member Types (BuddyPress/BuddyBoss only)

If you use BuddyPress or BuddyBoss member types, you can restrict posting to specific types:

Empty selection: All member types can post Specific types selected: Only those types can post

How access works: A user can post if they have an allowed role OR an allowed member type.

Content & Categories Tab

Configure how members interact with categories and content.

Category Settings

Saving Your Settings

After making changes:

Click Save Changes at the bottom of each tab Clear any caching plugins if changes don’t appear immediately Some settings may require members to log out and back in
