Co-Instructor Sharing

Co-Instructor Sharing lets a course author invite other instructors to collaborate on their course. Shared instructors get full access to view and edit the course content, see enrolled students, and clone the course — all from their own dashboard.

  1. Go to My Dashboard > My Courses.
  2. Click Edit on the course you want to share.
  3. In the course editor, find the Share Course field.
  4. Search for instructors by name and select one or more from the dropdown.
  5. Save the course.

Only users with the Instructor role appear in the sharing dropdown. You cannot add administrators, group leaders, or students as co-instructors through this field.

Role Can share courses?
Administrator Yes — can share any course
Instructor (course author) Yes — can share their own courses
Co-instructor No — only the original author or an admin can modify sharing

Once added as a co-instructor, the shared course appears in the instructor’s My Courses tab with a blue Shared badge.

Capability Available?
View the course in My Courses Yes
Edit course content (lessons, topics, quizzes, questions) Yes
View enrolled students via My Students Yes
Clone the course Yes
Remove themselves as co-instructor No (only the author or admin can)
Share the course with others No
Delete the course No

Throughout the dashboard, content items show colored badges indicating your relationship:

Badge Color Meaning
Your Content Green You are the original author
Shared Blue You are a co-instructor with edit access
View Only Gray You can see but not edit this content

These badges appear on courses, lessons, topics, quizzes, and questions.

When editing a course, a Course Content Library sidebar appears. This lets you drag and drop or add previously created lessons, topics, and quizzes into the course.

Role What the library shows
Administrator All lessons, topics, and quizzes on the site
Instructor Only their own authored content

Each item in the library displays its title, category tags, and an Add button. Use the search field to find specific items, and the Load More button to browse further.
