General Settings

Navigate to WP Stories > Settings > General to configure core story behavior.

Story Display Style

Choose how story circles appear on the front end. Three layout options are available:

• Square – Stories are displayed in square thumbnails.
• List – Stories appear in a vertical list layout.
• Instagram – Stories are shown as circular avatars in a horizontal row, similar to Instagram Stories.

Navigation Arrows

Toggle this on to show left/right navigation arrows when viewing stories in the fullscreen overlay. This helps users browse between story items without relying solely on tap/click gestures.

Cube Transition Effect

Enable a 3D cube animation when transitioning between stories. When turned off, stories transition with a standard slide effect.

Opening Animation

Controls the animation that plays when a user opens a story from the feed. Toggle on for an animated opening effect, or leave off for an instant open.

Move Seen Stories to End

When enabled, stories that the user has already viewed are automatically moved to the end of the story feed. Unseen stories appear first, making it easier for users to find new content.

Privacy Settings

Hide Stories from Logged-Out Users

When enabled, stories are completely hidden from visitors who are not logged in. Only authenticated users can view the story feed. If a logged-out visitor lands on a page with the story shortcode, nothing is rendered.
