Installation

Option A — Install from WordPress admin (recommended)

1. Log in to your WordPress admin area.
2. Go to Plugins > Add New.
3. Search for BuddyPress Status.
4. Click Install Now, then Activate Plugin.

The plugin settings appear under WB Plugins > BuddyPress Status in the left admin menu.

Option B — Manual upload

Use this method if you received the plugin as a .zip file.

1. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
2. Click Choose File, select the .zip file, and click Install Now.
3. After installation completes, click Activate Plugin.

Alternatively, extract the zip and upload the buddypress-status folder to /wp-content/plugins/ via FTP, then activate the plugin from the Plugins screen.

After activation

• A redirect takes you to the plugin’s Welcome screen under WB Plugins > BuddyPress Status.
• Status input will appear on BuddyPress member profiles immediately using default settings.
• No database migrations are needed for fresh installations.

Verifying the install

Visit any BuddyPress member’s profile page. You should see a status input form. If you do not, confirm that BuddyPress is active and that the user’s role has permission to post statuses (see General Settings).
