Scheduling in Groups

Members can schedule activity posts inside BuddyPress or BuddyBoss groups, with a few additional requirements.

To schedule a post in a group you must:

  • Be a member of the group.
  • Have posting permission in that group.

For BuddyBoss groups: the plugin also checks bp_group_is_user_allowed_posting(). If the group restricts who can post, that restriction applies to scheduling as well.

Group owner and moderator note: Only group owners and moderators can schedule activities in private or hidden groups. If a regular member tries to schedule in a restricted group, they will see the message: “Unable to schedule activity. You must be the group owner or a moderator to schedule activities.”

  1. Navigate to the group.
  2. Go to the group’s Activity tab.
  3. Write your content in the “What’s new?” box.
  4. Click the clock icon in the posting toolbar.
  5. Follow the same steps as scheduling a personal activity.

The post will be held as scheduled and published to the group’s activity feed at the time you set.

  • Before publishing: only visible to you in your “Scheduled Posts” profile tab.
  • After publishing: appears in the group’s activity stream, attributed to you, as a normal group activity post.

Scheduled group posts are hidden from:

  • The public activity feed.
  • Other group members.
  • Admins (unless they are also the post author).

This behavior is the same as scheduled personal posts - only the author sees them before the scheduled time.

Delete it from your Scheduled Posts profile tab the same way as a personal post. See Managing Scheduled Posts.
