Introduction to BuddyPress Schedule Activity

BuddyPress Schedule Activity adds a scheduling feature to your BuddyPress or BuddyBoss community. Members can write an activity post now and choose a future date and time for it to appear on the feed.

What it does

Section titled “What it does”

When a member schedules a post:

  1. They write their activity content as usual.
  2. They click the clock icon in the posting toolbar and choose a date and time.
  3. The post is saved but hidden from the activity feed.
  4. WordPress cron checks for due posts every minute and publishes them automatically.
  5. When the scheduled time arrives, the post appears in the feed as a normal activity update.

Scheduled posts are visible only to the post author, in the “Scheduled Posts” tab on their profile, until they go live.

The plugin works with:

  • BuddyPress (Nouveau template pack and Legacy template pack)
  • BuddyBoss Platform
  • Youzify theme (additional UI integration)
  • Reign Theme by Wbcom Designs

What members can do

Section titled “What members can do”
  • Schedule personal activity updates for any future date and time.
  • Schedule posts inside groups they are a member of (group owner or moderator permission required for scheduling inside private or hidden groups).
  • View all pending scheduled posts from their profile.
  • Delete a scheduled post before it publishes.

Note: Editing a scheduled post is not currently supported. To change the content or time, delete the scheduled post and create a new one.
