Introduction
BuddyPress Reactions
Section titled “BuddyPress Reactions”BuddyPress Reactions adds Facebook-style emoji reactions to your BuddyPress community. Members can express how they feel about activity posts, comments, and forum content with a single click — replacing or supplementing the standard BuddyPress Like button.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”When a logged-in member hovers over or taps the React button on an activity post, a panel of up to eight emoji choices appears. Clicking an emoji records the reaction immediately. The reaction count updates in real time. Hovering over the reaction count summary shows who reacted with each emoji.
Members can change their reaction at any time by clicking a different emoji, or remove it by clicking their current selection again.
Where reactions appear
Section titled “Where reactions appear”Reactions can be shown on:
- BuddyPress activity stream posts — the main social feed
- Activity comments — replies within an activity thread
- bbPress forum topics (requires bbPress to be active)
- bbPress forum replies (requires bbPress to be active)
- Blog posts and blog comments — standard WordPress post types
Each content area is switched on or off independently in the admin settings.
