BuddyBoss Platform Integration

WP Stories is fully compatible with BuddyBoss Platform, using the same BuddyPress integration layer since BuddyBoss Platform is built on BuddyPress.

Requirements

• BuddyBoss Platform 1.0 or higher

Enabling the Integration

1. Go to WP Stories > Settings > Integrations.
2. Under the BuddyPress section, toggle BuddyPress Integration on.
3. Click Save Changes.

Since BuddyBoss Platform extends BuddyPress, the integration settings appear under the BuddyPress heading.

Stories in News Feeds

Once enabled, stories appear at the top of the BuddyBoss activity feed (news feed). Members see story circles that they can click to view in a fullscreen overlay. The stories automatically adapt to the display style you selected in WP Stories > Settings > General.

Member Profile Integration

Members get a Stories tab on their BuddyBoss profiles. From their profile, users can:

• View their own published stories
• Create new stories (if the form is enabled)
• Delete stories they have created

BuddyBoss Theme Compatibility

WP Stories is styled to work with the BuddyBoss Theme. The story circles, submission form, and viewer overlay inherit appropriate spacing and typography from the theme. If you are using a custom BuddyBoss child theme, stories should integrate without additional CSS adjustments in most cases.

Story Collections

When Enable Story Collections is turned on in the integration settings, users can create grouped stories with a custom cover image and title, similar to Instagram Highlights. This feature works the same way as it does with standard BuddyPress.

Friends-Only Visibility

If the BuddyBoss friends feature is enabled, users can set story visibility to My Friends, restricting who can see specific story items to their friends list.
