Restrictions
Pro. This feature requires WB Member Blog Pro. The free plugin must be installed and active first. See the Pro index for every Pro module.
Controls how many posts a member can publish in a given period, and how long a post has to be. On by default.
Settings live at Member Blog > Restrictions.
What Members See
Section titled “What Members See”When a member reaches a limit, the post form is replaced with a message explaining which limit they hit and when it resets. No post can be submitted until then.
If limit warnings are on, a member approaching their limit sees a warning before they hit it.
Role-Based Limits
Section titled “Role-Based Limits”Set a limit per role, for each of five periods. Leave a field empty (or 0) for no limit.

All limits are checked independently and the most restrictive one wins. If you set 2 per hour and 10 per day, a member cannot exceed either.
To add a role, use the row at the bottom of the Role-Based Limits card, pick the role, fill in the periods you care about, and save.
Member Type Limits
Section titled “Member Type Limits”With BuddyPress or BuddyBoss, you can set the same five limits per member type. They work exactly like role limits.
Global Settings
Section titled “Global Settings”| Setting | Default | Description |

| Limit Warning | On, at 80% | Warn a member when they approach their limit. The threshold is a percentage between 50 and 99. |
| Word Count Limits | 0 and 0 (off) | Minimum and maximum words. A post outside the range cannot be submitted. Set either to 0 to disable that end. |
| Per-User Overrides | Off | Allow a personal limit, set on the member’s WordPress profile, to override their role and member-type limits. |
| Exempt Users | (empty) | Members listed here can always post, whatever the limits say. |
Per-user overrides
Section titled “Per-user overrides”Switch Per-User Overrides on, then edit a member under Users in WordPress admin and set their personal limit there. It replaces whatever their role or member type would have given them.
Word counting
Section titled “Word counting”The counter is Unicode-aware. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Cyrillic, Greek and accented text is counted correctly rather than being dropped or treated as one long word.
Exempt Users
Section titled “Exempt Users”Anyone in the exempt list bypasses every restriction. Use it for staff writers and community managers rather than raising everybody’s limits.
