Licensing
Section titled “Licensing”Eventonomy Free and Eventonomy Pro use the EDD Software Licensing SDK to manage updates from the Wbcom store. Free auto-activates with a built-in key. Pro requires a license key you enter after purchase.

Free License (Automatic)
Section titled “Free License (Automatic)”The Free plugin ships with a preset license key that activates automatically on installation. You do not need to do anything. The Free plugin receives updates from wordpress.org.
Activating Eventonomy Pro
Section titled “Activating Eventonomy Pro”After purchasing Eventonomy Pro from wbcomdesigns.com:
- Install and activate the Eventonomy Pro ZIP on your site (see Installation).
- Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
- Under Eventonomy Pro, click Manage License.
- Enter your license key (copy it from your Wbcom account at wbcomdesigns.com/account).
- Click Activate License.
A green “Active” status confirms the key is valid and this site is authorized to receive Pro updates.
Viewing License Status
Section titled “Viewing License Status”The license status is visible in two places:
- Plugins → Installed Plugins → Eventonomy Pro → Manage License
- Eventonomy → Setup & Health - the License check row shows Active, Inactive, or Expired.
Deactivating a License
Section titled “Deactivating a License”Each Eventonomy Pro license allows a set number of site activations. To move your license to a different site:
- On the current site, go to Plugins → Installed Plugins → Eventonomy Pro → Manage License.
- Click Deactivate License.
- The activation slot is freed immediately.
- Install Pro on the new site and activate the same key there.
What Happens When a License Is Inactive or Expired
Section titled “What Happens When a License Is Inactive or Expired”| State | Effect |
|---|---|
| Active | Pro features work; automatic updates are available. |
| Inactive | Pro features continue to work; automatic updates are blocked until you activate a valid key. |
| Expired | Pro features continue to work; automatic updates are blocked until you renew and re-activate. |
Your Pro features do not stop working when a license expires; only the update feed is paused. Renew at wbcomdesigns.com to restore updates.
