Supported Social Networks

This page lists every external sharing destination the plugin supports. Your site administrator controls which ones appear in the Share menu and in what order.

Clicking the Facebook button opens the Facebook Share dialog in a new tab. Facebook reads the activity page’s Open Graph tags to display a preview of the link.

Clicking the X button opens a pre-filled post on X (twitter.com). The activity title and link are added automatically. X has its own character limit; long titles may be trimmed by the platform.

Clicking the LinkedIn button opens the LinkedIn “Share an article” form in a new tab. The activity link is pre-filled.

Clicking the WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with the activity link ready to send. On mobile devices this launches the WhatsApp app. On desktop it opens WhatsApp Web.

Clicking the Telegram button opens Telegram’s share interface with the activity link and title pre-filled. On mobile this may open the Telegram app.

Clicking the Pinterest button opens the Pinterest “Create Pin” page. The activity link and description are pre-filled. Pinterest works best when the activity contains an image.

Clicking the Reddit button opens the Reddit “Submit a Link” form. The activity title and link are pre-filled. You choose which subreddit to post to after the form opens.

Clicking the WordPress button opens the WordPress.com “Press This” bookmarklet form. Use this to quickly republish the activity link to a WordPress.com blog.

Clicking the Pocket button saves the activity link directly to your Pocket reading list. You need to be logged in to Pocket in that browser session.

Clicking the Bluesky button opens Bluesky’s compose window with a pre-filled message that includes the activity title and link.

Clicking the E-mail button opens your operating system’s default email client with a pre-filled subject and message body. The subject includes your site’s name and the activity title. The body includes the activity link and a short message. You add recipient addresses and send from your own email client — the plugin does not send email on your behalf.

Clicking Copy Link copies the activity’s permalink to your clipboard. A small “Link Copied!” tooltip confirms the action. No new tab or window opens. Paste the link anywhere you need it.

These are not social networks — they are destinations inside your community. See Resharing Internally for full details.

Destination Requires
My Profile Being logged in
A Group Being a member of that group and the Groups component being active
A Friend The Friends component being active and having confirmed friends

The Share menu on your site shows only the networks your administrator has enabled. The order also reflects the administrator’s choice. If you want a network added that is not showing, contact your site administrator.
