Manage Emoji Labels
Manage Emoji Labels
Section titled “Manage Emoji Labels”The Emoji Labels tab lets you rename any of the 200+ built-in emojis to match your community’s language or tone. Labels are shown as tooltips when a member hovers over an emoji in the reaction picker. Find this tab at Wbcom Designs > BP Reactions > Emoji Labels.
Viewing the emoji library
Section titled “Viewing the emoji library”The page displays all emojis in a paginated grid — 50 per page. Each item shows the emoji image and its current name.
The total count is shown at the top of the page next to the heading.
Editing a label
Section titled “Editing a label”- Click on the emoji name you want to change.
- The name becomes an editable text field. The existing label is pre-filled.
- Type the new label (maximum 20 characters).
- Click the checkmark icon to save, or the X icon to cancel without saving.
Saved changes take effect immediately. You do not need to reload the page.
Labels can be edited individually; there is no bulk rename function.
Restoring default emoji data
Section titled “Restoring default emoji data”If emoji images appear broken — for example after a site migration or if the emoji database got out of sync — go to the BP Integration tab. Under the Data Management section, click Fix Broken Emojis. This restores all 200 default emojis and fixes any broken image references. Existing reaction counts and member reaction records are not affected.
Notes on custom labels
Section titled “Notes on custom labels”- Label changes apply everywhere the emoji name is displayed: tooltips, the reactions pop-up that shows who reacted, and the Reactions Log.
- Changing a label does not affect which emoji is shown — only the text name associated with it.
- Labels are stored in the
{prefix}bp_reactions_emojisdatabase table in thenamecolumn.
