Member Activity Preferences (PeepSo)
On PeepSo, each member can control whether their own GeoDirectory actions post activity to the stream. These per-member switches sit alongside the site-wide admin toggles: the admin toggle turns a feature on for the site, and the member switch lets an individual opt out of it for their own actions.
This feature applies to PeepSo only. BuddyPress has no equivalent per-member switch.
Where members find it
Section titled “Where members find it”The switches appear in the member’s PeepSo profile preferences, in a section titled Geodirectory Activity Settings.
Which switches appear
Section titled “Which switches appear”A member only sees a switch for an activity type that the administrator has enabled site-wide. So the section shows:
| Switch | Appears when the admin has enabled |
|---|---|
| Add activity on place creation | New Place Activity |
| Add activity when a place is marked as favorite | Marked Favorite Place Activity |
| Add activity when user reviews a place | Place Review Activity |
If none of the three admin activity toggles are enabled, the section does not appear at all.
Default behavior
Section titled “Default behavior”A member who has never touched a switch is treated as opted in. In other words, once an administrator enables an activity type, it applies to every member until that member explicitly switches it off for themselves.
What the switch controls
Section titled “What the switch controls”The switch only affects whether the member’s action posts an activity to the stream. It does not change notifications. A review or favorite notification is sent to the listing author according to the admin notification toggle regardless of the member’s activity switch.
