Installation

Make sure the requirements are met: the Reign theme is active, GeoDirectory is installed and active, and (optionally) BuddyPress or PeepSo is active. If the Reign theme or GeoDirectory is missing, the addon will deactivate itself on activation and show a notice explaining what is missing.

  1. Download the Reign GeoDirectory Addon zip from your account.
  2. In the WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  3. Choose the zip file and select Install Now.
  4. Select Activate.

You can also upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/reign-geolocation over SFTP and then activate it from the Plugins screen.

  • The addon seeds default settings into the shared Reign theme options (reign_options) for whichever community platform is active. Defaults include the Places tab enabled, the two-column grid layout, and all activity and notification toggles enabled.
  • The addon disables GeoDirectory’s fast_ajax option so favorite-place activity can be recorded reliably.
  • If GeoDirectory is not active, or the active theme is not Reign, the addon deactivates itself instead and shows an admin notice.
  1. Open the Reign theme options page in the WordPress admin (Appearance > Reign Options, or the theme’s options entry).
  2. Select the Geodirectory Settings tab, then General Settings.
  3. Review and save the settings. See Configure Settings for each field.

Continue to Configure Settings.
