Installation
Follow these steps in order. Because the addon self-deactivates without the Reign theme and WP Job Manager, install those first.
Step 1: Activate the Reign theme
Section titled “Step 1: Activate the Reign theme”Install and activate the Reign theme under Appearance > Themes. The addon checks that the active theme’s template is reign-theme and will not stay active otherwise.
Step 2: Install WP Job Manager
Section titled “Step 2: Install WP Job Manager”Install and activate WP Job Manager from Plugins > Add New. If you plan to accept resumes or applications, also install WP Job Manager Resumes and WP Job Manager Applications. These are separate plugins from Automattic.
Step 3: Install the addon
Section titled “Step 3: Install the addon”- In your admin panel, go to Plugins > Add New and click Upload Plugin.
- Click Choose File, select the addon’s
.zipfile, then click Install Now. - Click Activate.
If either the Reign theme or WP Job Manager is missing, the addon deactivates itself and shows an admin notice naming what to activate.
Step 4: Enter your license key
Section titled “Step 4: Enter your license key”Open the Reign theme options and find the license section. Enter your Reign WP Job Manager Addon license key to enable updates. The license field lives in the Reign license panel, not a separate plugin menu.
Step 5: Confirm the settings tab
Section titled “Step 5: Confirm the settings tab”Go to the Reign theme options page. You should see a WP Job Manager tab. Inside it are three groups:
- Archive page layout - list, grid, and card layouts for job and resume archives.
- Single page layout - three single-page designs each for jobs and resumes.
- Job Manager Map Settings - map visibility, zoom, type, height, language, and clustering.
Step 6: Flush permalinks
Section titled “Step 6: Flush permalinks”After activation, go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes once. This refreshes rewrite rules so job and resume archive and taxonomy URLs resolve correctly. Do this again if you see 404 errors on job or resume pages.
What happens automatically
Section titled “What happens automatically”On activation, when a job or resume taxonomy is still empty, the addon seeds it with predefined terms (for example salary ranges, career levels, industries). Existing terms are never overwritten. See Taxonomies and default terms for the full list.
