Reign Sensei Addon Overview

Reign Sensei Addon connects the Sensei LMS plugin with the Reign theme so your courses adopt a polished, marketplace-style presentation instead of Sensei’s default output. It is a companion addon: it adds no learning features of its own and instead restyles and extends what Sensei and Reign already provide.

What the addon does

  • Redesigns the single course page into a Udemy-style layout with a cover header, tabbed Description / Teacher / Review sections, and a course features sidebar (lessons, quizzes, students, certificate).
  • Restyles the course archive and category pages with a three-column card grid, review stars, author avatar, price, and Reign theme sidebars.
  • Adds course reviews by turning WordPress comments on the course post type into star-rated reviews with a rating breakdown.
  • Links Sensei courses to BuddyPress groups so a group can show a Courses tab listing its associated courses.
  • Posts BuddyPress activity for learning events (enrolments, course and lesson completions, quiz submissions) and for instructor publishing events (new course, lesson, quiz).

How it fits together

The addon sits on top of two required products:

  • Sensei LMS owns the courses, lessons, quizzes, and enrolment logic.
  • The Reign theme owns the design system, the theme options page, and the license manager panel.

Reign Sensei Addon hooks into both. It self-deactivates if either one is missing, so it never runs on a site it cannot style. All of its settings live inside the theme’s own reign_options option under a sensei key, which means the Reign theme options page is where you configure the addon.
